Sign-on bonus eligibility: Upon graduation and completion of the residency program, this bonus is open to external applicates who have not been previously employed by CMC in the last rolling 9 months.

This is a full time (0.6 - 0.8 Status), day shift Surgical Tech Resident position in the Surgery Department.

The Surgical Services Instrument Processing Technician is responsible for the reprocessing and sterilization of instruments and supplies for the surgical suite and all hospital-sterilized instrumentation. This includes replenishing of inventory such as implants, burs, blades, and consumables housed inside sterile containers. Works collaboratively with patient care staff to store all sterilized items in the appropriate manner and location.

Minimum Required: High School graduate or equivalent. Proficient in verbal and written English with excellent telephone and customer service skills. Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment required.

Preferred / Desired: Prefer one year hospital setting within the past three years, and at least one year of sterile processing experience. 3 years’ previous experience preferred. Coursework in medical terminology, human anatomy, microbiology, infection control, decontamination, disinfection, instrument assembly and packaging, higher-level sterilization, biological testing, and inventory management and distribution desired.

On Call / Weekend: Per department needs.
