JOB Description

Position Title: Housekeeper

Department: Resort Operations

Reports to: Resort Manager

Position Summary:

The Housekeeper serves as a key member of the resort’s operation team. The Housekeeper is responsible for general appearance and cleanliness of owner’s rooms and public areas of the resort. The Housekeeping staff regularly interacts with the owners and guests, and as such, is an owner’s impression of VI Resorts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Remove any debris from the guest’s room.
  • Manage the bed and bathroom linens including: the changing of linens, removal of dirty linens from the units, inventory of dirty linens, transportation of dirty linens to the laundry facility and pick up of clean lines.
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas; including under and around furniture, and along edges with a crevice tool.
  • Steam clean carpets as needed.
  • Clean windows, sills, frames, and spot clean blinds as needed.
  • Clean all mirrors, artwork glass, and frames.
  • Clean and sanitize all bathrooms. Includes all toilets, tubs, sinks, showers, and floors.
  • Clean all doors inside and out including exterior doors.
  • Clean refrigerator and disposes of old ice.
  • Replenishes guest supplies.
  • Performs self inspection of room after cleaning is complete.
  • Return all lost and found items to the front desk.
  • Call in all maintenance items to the front desk. Report any and all changes in room to the supervisor.
  • Immediately report any and all damaged or missing items to the supervisor.
  • Verify kitchen and room inventory and document results on the inventory sheet.
  • Reports completed room to supervisor.
  • Keep linen room and housekeeping storage rooms and cabinets clean and orderly.
  • Document labor hours for common area work on your daily assignment sheet.
  • Perform building side work as assigned or when you are not busy. Document work to your supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED desired.
  • Basic math skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers and guests via verbal and written communication.
  • Reliable transportation

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality industry.

Physical Demands of the Position:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and will often be required to lift 10 – 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
