The section IT 1.6 Business Technology is responsible for successful consulting on, bundling, management and design of IT innovation solutions in close cooperation with the business divisional units and departments, and central divisions in Munich Re (Group), as well as with other IT units.
IT section1.6.4.1 in Munich and section 1.6.4.2 in Princeton is responsible for Munich Re’s “Big Data and Analytics Platform” and specific data and AI based solutions. This so called BDAP platform builds the basis for the innovative digital solutions of Munich Re and needs permanent development.
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Solution Architect to drive high priority customer initiatives on the Microsoft Azure Platform in collaboration with customers. This is a customer facing role, owning overall technical relationship between customer and BDAP Data, Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Platform.
You will own the Data Platform & Advanced Analytics technical customer engagements within our North American Business Units including architectural design sessions, specific implementation projects and/or MVPs. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer-facing roles and success leading deep technical architecture discussions with senior customer executives, Enterprise Architects, IT Management and Developers to drive Data Platform and Advanced Analytics solutions to productions. ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities include:
- Designing workflows, integration and automation of data flows
- Create efficient delivery and change management
- Design and implement cloud-based Data Warehousing of data and data models
- Develop and deliver BI, and to aid the data engineers, business uses, analysts, and data scientists
- Easily transform batch and streaming data on the Databricks Delta Lake platform
- Implement data quality testing and support leveraging software development best practices
- Automate ETL processing for eg with Delta Live Tables (DLT)
- Workflow orchestration of diverse workloads for full lifecycle of data, analytics and BI
- Optimizing Incremental Ingestion in the context of a Lakehouse
- Implement end-to-end observability and monitoring across the entire data lifecycle
- Engage with the technical community by leading workshops, meet-ups and whiteboarding sessions
Your profile
Qualifications Professional- Experience. 10+ years of success in consultative/complex data warehousing and analytics projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of data and analytics applications required
- Relationship Building. Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior IT executives in large or highly strategic projects. Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution/projects.
- Problem Solving. Ability to solve customer problems through data & AI cloud technologies
- Collaboration and Communication. Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams, ensuring successful implementation of customer projects. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management, Data Engineers, ML Engineers and Data Scientist)
Technical
- Designed data warehouse and data lake solutions along with data processing Pipeline using PySpark and SQL
- Performed Data Modelling on Databricks [Delta Table] for transactional and analytical need is a requirement
- Designed and developed pipelines to load data to Data Lake
- Involved in hands on development and configuration of data processing
- Strong experience in data modelling and deployment of multi-dimensional schema, entity relationship modelling
- Specialized especially in the Azure stack with the most experience in Databricks and all Azure components needed in a Modern Big Data Platform including mandatory PowerBI expertise
- Domain Knowledge: Insurance, and certification like CPCU is a plus
Education
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Certification in one or more of the following technologies preferred: Cloud, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Big Data, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence.
The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including NYC. The salary range posted below applies to the Company’s NYC location.
The base salary range anticipated for this position is $142,400 - 208,800, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in NYC. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
