REGISTERED NURSE - LABOR AND DELIVERY UNIT

The Labor & Delivery Unit at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center provides comprehensive labor and delivery services for more than 2,000 births each year. Our Labor and Delivery unit offers the latest medical technology, and our team approach ensures a birthing experience that is patient-focused. We are currently seeking experienced and new RN Grads for immediate full-time L&D opportunities.

Selected candidates will help expectant women through the birthing process, assisting with complications, and caring for mothers and infants after deliveries.

DUTIES

• Providing information, guidance, and hands-on clinical care to expectant women.
• Assisting physicians before, during and after delivery, treatment, examination, and surgical procedures.
• Administering medications, tracking dosages, and documenting patient conditions.
• Utilizing EMR system to update patient records, transmit prescriptions and transfer files.
• Identifying possible complications as they arise
• Helping to administer epidurals and other medications
• Performing diagnostic tests as needed
• Monitoring newborns after birth
• Keeping detailed records of the birth process
• Aiding new mothers as they adapt to breastfeeding
• Consulting with physicians or midwives regarding the mother and baby and their conditions

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a graduate of an Accredited BSN Nursing Program
• NY State RN License required
• Minimum 1-2 years recent Labor and Delivery experience preferred.
• Will consider assertive New Grads with minimum 3.2 GPA’s OR better (NO EXCEPTIONS)
• Must possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program and NCC Fetal Monitoring Certification required

SALARY: $46.70/hr. - $48.26/hr. Plus Differentials

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $46.70 - $50.45 per hour
