Job Title: Project Coordinator
Madera Coalition for Community Justice
MCCJ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Founded in 1993, the community-based organization has been advocating on behalf of the low-income, minority and farmworker communities to improve food security, increase safe and affordable housing, fight for educational equity, environmental and juvenile justice, and build community capacity through youth and adult leadership development to ensure responsive governance.
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the director and the grant manager, the coordinator will implement the objectives of a project(s) that advances the mission of the Madera Coalition. Duties include implementing a youth leadership development/environmental justice curriculum, conducting outreach and education, community relations, meeting facilitation, public speaking, policy advocacy, and other duties as assigned.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct community outreach to publicize and build awareness and recruit participants for project.
- Research, plan, prepare presentations and put on workshops covering subject area.
- Support the organization in its strategy, policy advocacy and relationship development.
- Develop flyers, informational fact sheets and issue/policy briefs.
- Organize and prepare residents for public meeting and events.
- Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling and organizing meetings and events, note taking and maintaining listserv and databases
- Maintain records and prepare grant reports.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred)
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledgeable of the Health Care System/ Environmental impacts
- Bachelor's degree preferred (combination of college credits and other equivalent experience considered)
- Demonstrated commitment to environmental justice issues and health care.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Self-directed, well-organized and responsible
- Good writing skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internet fluency
- Have car, valid driver’s license and insurance
Position Pay, Hours & Other Requirements
- $18-$22 per hour, depending on education and experience
- 35-40 hours depending on funding sources
- Able to work in the evening and on weekends as needed
Position open till filled.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
