PRIMARY PURPOSE:

It is the responsibility of the Painter to perform maintenance and repairs, performing the duties of combination painter in all phases of painting and wall covering on all areas of the property. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and company policies, practices, and procedures to ensure overall facility integrity.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine to complex maintenance and repair work on painted and papered surfaces and systems throughout the property, responsible for completion of all jobs assigned by Dispatch or Management and maintain logbooks
• Operate power and hand tools to complete job assignments in a timely manner; to include ability to operate conventional and/or airless spray equipment as required
• Prepare surface to be painted, paint and install wall covering, adjust paint to proper color as necessary, patch, tape and texture and acoustic as necessary
• Work under minimal supervision to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Keep informed and updated on current technical methods
• Advise Shift Supervisor of any unusual conditions within the property
• Understand the layout of the property, hotel rooms, and equipment
• Maintain constant awareness of personal and property cleanliness, safety and accident prevention, able to wear/use personal protective equipment (p.p.e.)
• Perform other job-related duties as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• General knowledge of mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and divisio
• Knowledgeable of all paints and wall coverings
• Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
• Ability to work under pressure
• Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine
• Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills
• Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
• Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of experience in the hospitality industry or similar environment
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

PREFERRED:

• Technical school or completed apprenticeship in similar trade
