We are seeking a Lead Front Desk Assistant for the Northwest Spay & Neuter Center which provides spay, neuter, wellness and (coming soon) dentistry services to income qualified homes and local animal welfare agencies. Northwest Spay & Neuter Center is the largest spay and neuter center in Washington state providing over 14,000 surgeries and over 5,000 wellness exams per year.

What you’ll be doing (as part of a team with training):
· Leading a team of Front Desk Assistants in creating a welcoming environment for all guests to the center (animals and their human companions).
· Serving as subject matter expert on systems and processes to support efficiencies and bringing a continuous mindset to operations.
· Supporting all scheduling, payment, licensing and pre/post appointment needs of all clients.
What you’ll need to be successful (minimum requirements):
· Experience as the front desk / reception service to an organization.
· Cash handling and payment processing experience; including POS systems.
· Leadership:
o Demonstrated experience in interacting a diverse staff in a positive, friendly, collaborative, and inclusive manner.
o Ability to engage with animals and humans who may be having a hard day with a commitment to quality care.
o Strong communication skills to demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, tact, compassion, and sound judgment to your coworkers and community members.
· Working Conditions:
o Available outside of regularly scheduled hours in a leadership role promoting support staff and operational success.
o Able to work flexible hours, which will include weekends and some evenings.
o Proficiency with computer systems; able to use effectively and guide others when needed.
o Frequent ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; hear sufficiently; reach, bend, or stoop, regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
o This position works daily in a spay, neuter, wellness, and surgery clinic. This position will come in direct contact with animals and will be exposed to animal related smells and sounds.
What we’d love if you had (preferred requirements):
· Work experience in an animal environment (veterinary services, shelter).
· High volume (50+ contacts / day) reception experience.
· Supervisory experience in any capacity.
