Position Summary
Perform routine and highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic neuro-endovascular procedures on patients following established parameters/protocols for use by endovascular physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of head, neck, and spine pathologies under general supervision.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the Following:
- Assists physician by scrubbing in during neuro-interventional and diagnostic procedures and possesses knowledge in various procedure set-ups, which include coiling, stenting, particle, onyx and nbca embolizations, etc
- Performs arterial sheath removal and can recognize situations that may require immediate assistance
- Circulates within the angiography suite and procures all necessary medical equipment for any and all procedures
- Records pertinent data during procedure to assist the physician in the proper dictation post procedure
- Performs all neuro-angiographic technologist-related responsibilities as required
- Performs ultrasound exams related to neuro-endovascular procedures
- Performs Angiographic CT and 3D rotational angiography
- Performs and is proficient in post-processing imaging related to neuro-endovascular procedures
- Proper setup and technique of sterile tables for neuro-endovascular procedures
- Closely monitors equipment par levels and works with the inventory department to ensure proper levels are maintained
- Assists in the standardization of equipment in order to ensure cost-effective and positive patient outcomes
- Communicates effectively with patients, nurses, PAs/NPs, technologists, and physicians, particularly regarding the information on interventional procedures requiring specialized patient preparation
- Demonstrates a thorough and working knowledge of normal and abnormal cerebral vascular anatomy
- Performs routine quality control checks for procedures and equipment and alerts manager to any system failures or variances
- Makes arrangements and informs the manager of the maintenance and repair of angiographic equipment
- Assist with other services as required
- Performs related duties as required
Education & Experience Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R.T.) required
Post-primary certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) (ARRT) preferred
Minimum of 2 years of neuro angiographic suite experience accompanied with sterile technique experience
Location: White Plains Hospital ยท NeuroSciences
Schedule: Full Time, Day, 7am-5pm, On Call Required, Weekends/Holidays
