We currently have an opportunity for a Medical Assistant for our Hialeah location.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Take patients from the lobby to the triage room where vital signs are taken, information about social history is requested, and assessment (review of system) is performed.
• As per Doctor’s orders, they do EKG’s, injections, vaccines, nebulizer machine treatments.
• Enter ordered treatments in the system.
• Assist Doctors as needed during medical examination.
• Perform Chart Review prior to patient’s visit to assure proper documentation is in the chart.
• In charge of the following logs: Oxygen tanks, Eyewash, and Refrigerators.
• Conduct weekly review of existing medications in the center to assure no medication is expired and clinic complies as per medication guidelines.
• In charge of the Sharp Containers and the Waste Biohazard Containers (labels and replacement).
• Return all phone calls to patients, providers, and facilities by the end of the day.
• Serve as a liaison between doctors, patients, and third parties.
• In charge of organizing and maintaining the inventory of medications and clinical supplies.
• Provide Administration with a monthly list of medications to order (based on the clinic’s needs).
• Assist with the completion of medical and social forms as per Doctor’s orders.
• Review medication history and current medication usage for patients.
• Regular disinfestation of examining room equipment and instruments.
• Respond accordingly to clinical tasking sent by Doctors in the EHR system.
• Assist Doctors with any needed coordination for patients with medical necessities.
• HEDIS Measures.
• Medical Assistant Diploma.
• CPR or BLS certificate issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Phlebotomy license required.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
• At least two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist or in additional areas of patient health care in a clinical setting.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8-hour shift; flexible schedule
• Work Location: Viva Mas Hialeah

Experience/Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant Diploma.
• CPR or BLS certificate issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Phlebotomy license required.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
• At least two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist or in additional areas of patient health care in a clinical setting.
