What You’ll do
We’re looking for a self-motivated communications associate who’s a dynamic writer and communicator to join our Marketing & Communications team in the US. While your focus will be on the US business, you will occasionally support the Americas region, which currently includes Brazil. Working cross-functionally with the US business to develop, plan and implement content and communication strategies for both in house and external campaigns, the ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent writing and project management skills in working with stakeholders and team members to deliver under tight deadlines. Top candidates will be skilled at creating content that both engages our various audiences and helps further our business objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Implement robust media and social media campaigns for the US business
  • Event management where associated with US communication campaigns or community relations initiatives
  • Writing and executing US media plans around announcement and media campaigns
  • Preparing presentations and other collateral, digital and print
  • Assisting with website content creation, management, and analytics
  • Managing speaking engagements and promoting Lightsource bp team members to present at key strategic industry related conferences and events
  • Media coverage monitoring and coverage report creation
  • Writing stories for company intranet including those about US and Brazil activities and accomplishments
  • Collaborating with business units in the US to identify needs, translating this into content strategies and marketing plans that support business goals
  • Collaboratively working with other stakeholders, including bp, to ensure consistent delivery on messaging and maximizing channel output
  • Implement and maintain an effective reporting and tracking system to ensure targets and deadlines are continually reviewed
  • Continue to push the boundaries by developing new ideas for bright and engaging content that would help us meet our corporate goals
  • Dealing with administrative tasks associated with delivering projects such as raising purchase orders
  • Maintaining and reporting on budgets where required
Who we’re looking for
Knowledge/Work Skills
  • A skilled and articulate writer
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • A general understanding of the solar/renewable industry a plus
  • Developing and delivering both internal and external communication strategies
  • Using social media channels to effectively deliver marketing content
  • Leveraging digital marketing tools (SEO, Digital advertising including Google Ads, Google Analytics)
  • A degree in marketing or communications preferred, but not a requirement
Experience
  • 2-3 years experience in marketing, communications or similar field (includes internships)
  • 2-3 years’ experience in writing copy and content across a broad range of collateral
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns, including SEO, digital advertising and social media marketing
  • Website content creation, management, and analytics (experience with WordPress)
  • Demonstrated graphic design experience a plus
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)

We Offer


  • US team members are entitled to medical benefits, life insurance, dental benefits, vision benefits and short- and long-term disability benefits. Lightsource bp pays for the first $800 of the monthly insurance premium. For staff members with dependents, Lightsource will cover 50% of the costs of covering dependents. The team member contributes the remainder of the premium, if any, through pre-tax payroll deduction.
  • Lightsource bp offers US team members immediate eligibility for a 401(k) plan, with a 3% nonelective employer contribution.
  • Our team members are eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, calculated based on corporate, team and individual objectives. Team members in the US may receive an additional 50% of their annual bonus in a “retention bank” as well, available for withdrawal after three years of bonus awards have accrued.
  • Lightsource bp currently observes the following 11 holidays in the US: New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
  • US team members accrue 20 days of vacation and 15 days of sick leave annually. All team members are also eligible for COVID-19 leave.
  • Team members in the US enjoy a hybrid work environment.
  • US team members receive a monthly personal phone bill reimbursement of up to $100 and a monthly commuter benefit of up to $150. Team members also receive one-time wellness and remote work allowances
