We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Job Summary:
Consult with students one-on-one about writing assignments. Assist the Writing Center Manager with a variety of administrative and organizational tasks.
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and group tutoring support services to Collin College students. Help students understand the writing process, how to write thesis statements, how to organize and develop ideas and how to correct papers for sentence fluency, grammar, punctuation and diction.
  • Organize, facilitate, track and maintain tutoring sessions and records in accordance with department procedures.
  • Assist the Writing Center manager with a variety of administrative and organization tasks, including generating reports, creating forms and handouts and promoting the Writing Center.
  • Teach weekly writing workshops.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA.


Supplemental Functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all duties to maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and core values.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required. Master's degree from an y accredited institution, preferred.
One (1) year of related experience required. Two (2) years of related experience, preferred.

Must be available to work weekday evenings until 8 pm and Saturdays until 5 pm as needed.
