Summary

Manages and supports City produced and supported community events including planning, mapping, staging, setup, teardown and cleanup.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides instructional supervision and manages maintenance crew members to ensure the success of community events including stage setup, event staging, teardown and cleanup. Hands-on work will be required including moving tables, chairs, barricades etc.
• Works all assigned events
• Works closely with special events division to perform needed tasks to include building props, equipment delivery and setup, etc.
• Attends planning meetings for events to coordinate worker of activities
• Ensures routine maintenance is done on all equipment and tools before use
• Obtains prices and purchasing materials needed to complete construction projects
• Manages the daily operations of all City owned event facilities to include but not limited to The Bend of the River, MLK Festival Grounds, Food Truck Plaza, and Santa Fe Plaza
• Prepares daily assignments for staff and track labor with appropriate software
• Trains staff on the logistical amenities of each event location to include electrical, water, irrigation, etc.
• Ensures City financial policies, procedures, and safety guidelines followed

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of experience in Building Construction, Landscaping, or related field
• One (1) year experience in a supervisory role

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Preferred qualifications

• Texas Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicators License
• Certified Playground Inspector (CPI)
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
