- Prioritize units and skills within the CLKA materials
- Create a Kindergarten scope and sequence and pacing guide
- Align Kindergarten curriculum and instructional strategies to CT Core Standards and CELP standards
- Embed differentiated instructional strategies and resources into curriculum documents
- Determine a Kindergarten lesson plan template to recommend to Kindergarten Teachers
- Identify materials and resources that may need to be acquired
- Upload all shared work into Kindergarten Google Folders to be shared with all SPS Teachers and Administrators
- Present professional development to Kindergarten teams in the 2023-24 school year

The purpose of this Kindergarten Curriculum Committee is to engage Teachers and Administrators in developing SPS district-wide Kindergarten Literacy curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments using Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) and SPS District Materials. The Kindergarten curriculum will provide Kindergarten Teachers with a district-wide equitable curriculum, high leverage instructional strategies, and materials aligned to CT Core Standards and the CELP standards. The curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments will meet the individual needs for all students and focus on student achievement. Our goal is to have a Teacher representative from each building.
This position is available pending operating budget and grant funding approval.

Per SEA contract
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently working as a Kindergarten Teacher, SPED Teacher, EL Teacher, or Reading Team Teacher
Skilled in Microsoft Word, Google Suite and other relevant software
Demonstrate superior organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills especially writing
Must be able to attend the dates listed above
