Commercial Low Voltage Sales Engineer
Job description
The Commercial Low Voltage Sales Engineer is responsible for seeking out and bringing In Low Voltage Fire Alarm, security/intrusion, CCTV, Card Access work for the company. He/she must embody the highest standard of friendly professionalism and provide superior support to customers, co-workers, and field operations. This individual will work closely with the electrical and alarm field staff, other sales staff, and dispatchers to provide outstanding delivery of services. This position is responsible for fostering a sales relationship with customers, general contractors, and designers to develop the electrical plans for a specific project and provide budgets or firm prices for the implementation of these plans. The Sales Engineer also monitors and oversees the accomplishment of accepted projects. The hours for this position are flexible will generally be between 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every weekday. Occasional evening or weekend work may also be required. Excellent attendance and written and oral communication skills are required.
Essential Duties:
· To create, develop, and maintain relationships with KNA’s customers.
· To respond, and follow-up on sales inquiries by telephone, email, and personal visits to secure work for KNA.
· Write and Sell maintenance contracts for low voltage systems
· To obtain all needed information from customers to provide a written proposal and pricing from the customer’s plans or requests when the project scope is defined by the customer.
· To obtain all needed information from customers to develop a design and installation plan and associated budgets or pricing when the customer requires KNA’s input into the project scope.
· To prepare written quotations and budgets in accordance with KNA’s procedures, forms, and policies. (Requires use of Microsoft Word and Excel.) All budgets and quotations to be based on KNA’s actual costs defined profitability markup as determined by KNA.
· To close as many sales as possible.
· To work with the design/engineering department staff to create, update and transmit E-drawings, including proposal drawings, construction drawings and record drawings when necessary.
· To provide on-site support of installation personnel and to monitor and assure that installations reflect the full scope of work included in the sales agreement with the customer.
· To provide revised and updated budgeting and pricing on projects in progress when changes, additions or deletions occur to the original project scope or budget.
· To attend job site, design team, build team or other project related meetings when needed to facilitate the efficient, timely and cost-effective completion of an installation.
· To make site visits as needed to provide field support to KNA field staff and/or subcontractors.
· To monitor and participate (as needed) in timely invoicing and collections on all projects.
· To work with customers and other KNA personnel to achieve satisfactory resolution to all customer complaints, in accordance with KNA’s procedures and standards.
· To review statistics and other reporting on individual and department sales and other efforts to incorporate data gained from this reporting into future sales and project management activities.
· To participate, as appropriate, in analysis and planning of KNA’s business performance, profitability and strategic planning.
· To work interactively with other KNA staff, and to attend company meetings as appropriate, to develop and participate in KNA’s business and organizational development.
· To actively pursue professional development that will increase KNA’s capabilities to provide service to customers. This will include current and accurate knowledge of the NEC, NFPA and other code requirements, in related fields including residential fire alarm, low-voltage fire alarm, security/intrusion, CCTV, and card access control system parameters.
· To attend training on and off company time to develop and advance personal knowledge and skills related to new equipment and procedures relevant to the field.

· Ability to attend training seminars as assigned during business hours and on evenings and weekends.
· Neat, clean, courteous, and professional behavior and appearance at all times.
· Valid Massachusetts driver’s license in good standing
· Driving record and criminal records as required by state laws and KNA’s insurance carrier(s).
Education and Experience:
· Familiarity with the NEC and NFPA codes and current knowledge of appropriate systems, devices, equipment, and standards.
· High School Diploma or equivalent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
