Plymouth Industries is searching for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, preparation, analysis, interpretation and/or maintenance of accounting records, government and tax reports, statistics, financial reports, and administration of accounting policies and procedures utilizing GAAP at all the operating companies as well as at the consolidated level.

In addition, this position organizes, directs, and coordinates activities involved in executing the short and long-term planning and development strategies of Plymouth Industries et al. This includes assisting in the identification of potential acquisition candidates and conducting due diligence.

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

Responsible for the general and cost accounting functions of Plymouth Industries et al and the preparation and analysis of reports and statistics reflecting costs, earnings, profits, cash management and other related financial results.

  • Responsible for review of financial and statistical reports and analyzes unusual items on financial or control reports. Makes recommendations to reduce costs and improve profits.
  • Action oriented management of working capital drivers.
  • Investigate, create, implement, and monitor overall plans, strategies and objectives for the finance function within Plymouth Industries. Directly supervise Controller of Plymouth Industries.
  • Develop for the approval by the President, accounting standards, policies, and procedures to assure acceptable accounting practices, adequate internal controls, and compliance with statutes and regulations issued by local, state, and federal governments.
  • Recommends modifications in chart of accounts, costs systems, and other practices to meet the plant’s needs and the needs of the Company.
  • Ensures the proper maintenance of the general ledger, cost accounting, information systems, payroll, preparation of the plant’s financial and other control reports.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of inventory, governmental and other reports, as required.
  • Responsible for the proper handling of all expenditures and documents, to include capital and other expenditures.
  • Exercises accounting control to ensure that budgeted capital and expense expenditures do not exceed amounts authorized.
  • Monitor the levels of raw material, finished goods, and work in-process inventories. Develops action plans regarding inventory, accounts receivables, and accounts payable.
  • Provide direction, analysis and advise to the President, direct report, and other operating management on accounting/finance matters, on interpretation and use of related reports, etc.
  • Prepare the Company’s annual Profit Plan.
  • Work closely with the President and other senior managers to develop short and long- term strategic objectives and initiatives.
  • In conjunction with an acquisition team, conduct effective due diligence, industry analysis, analyzes balance sheets, cash flows, and income statements to identify problems of goodwill, unfunded pension liabilities, off-balance sheet financing, undisclosed liabilities, inventory valuation, etc. Develops pro-forma analysis as required on acquisition candidates.
  • Review, critique, edit, revise, and approve all significant company contracts and legal agreements.
  • Maintain, monitor and administer company-wide delegation of authority policy and delegation of authority schedule.
  • Be involved in special assignments as directed by the President.
  • Ability to analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively communicate information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
