Job Summary:
As our Wine Manager you’ll be responsible for establishing and maintaining guest services, overseeing and being accountable for the operation of the Wine Department. This also includes ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandise, inventory, and expense control.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Ensure each guest receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
- Analyze and measure business trends; work with Store Manager to develop and implement plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives.
- Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, presentations; signing, and assortment in the Wine Department; coordinating with Corporate Merchandising & Marketing Wine Department to do so.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures with Store Manager through regular store management and staff meetings, store walk-through and audits, etc.
- Train and develop Sales Associates to be more knowledgeable of wine products.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- One year of management experience preferred
- Strong Knowledge of wine preferred
- Three years or more experience in retail or on-premise setting
- CSW Certification an advantage & preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Provide an extremely high level of customer service
- MS Office knowledge required
- Ability to work in a fast pace setting
- Organized with a great attention to detail
- Self Motivated
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Travel:
- Minimal travel is expected for this position
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Must maintain Indiana State Employee Permit
- Must maintain Indiana State Approved Server Training Certification
