PURPOSE STATEMENT: To champion access to compassionate high-quality care by remaining independent, strategically comprehensive and community-focused.
SUMMARY: The Vice President/CMO (CMO), is accountable to ensure that our Medical Staff Champion’s access to compassionate high quality medical care to our patientscare. He/she will be responsible to ensure that the Medical staff provides compassionate high quality clinical care, an outstanding patient experience, and efficiencies to provide highly reliable, evidence-based patient care.
The CMO will be a master at developing and building relationships. He/she will coach and nurture new Medical Staff members, develop physician leaders, and create an engaging physician culture that helps promote the values of the organization.
This executive serves as a resource to management on matters pertaining to medical staff activities. He/she will engage medical staff Leaders, Medical Staff members, nursing, administrative and other key stakeholders to foster an environment of collaboration and communication between the Medical Staff and Hospital Administration.
This position will work closely and collaborate with the Chief of Staff at Baxter Health, the Medical Executive Committee, Contracted physicians, private physician, employed physicians and others associated with the Hospital Medical Staff. He/she will attend and support the Hospital Medical Staff Executive Committee, MQM Committee, and Credentials Committee.
The CMO is responsible for oversight and strategic development of physician leaders, Clinical quality and safety, medical staff services, peer review, (both clinical and behavioral) and the development of a healthy physician culture.
He/she will work closely with physician recruitment, Hospital Credentialing, and Hospital Quality.
BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards as they appear in Dynamic Health and Healthstream Policy Manager. Required to work with the President and Chief Executive Officer, Compliance Officer and the compliance committee to detect, report and resolve any compliance concerns in a timely manner.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited medical school. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree is required as is Board Certification in one of the American Board of Medical Specialties. Additional education and/or course work in Physician Executive Programs, management or business is desired.
Experience: Minimum five (5) years of practicing in a Hospital setting. Prefer the individual to currently be a practicing physician with a track record of success in leadership roles.
Licensure: Must have an active Arkansas Medical license in good standing.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
