POSITION: Teacher, Winter Lakes Elementary
Salary Range: $41,203 to $76,326 DOE - Excellent Fringe Benefits
Qualifications: Elementary Education certification preferred, other current certifications will be considered. Successful candidate will serve in a full-time capacity managing a classroom of students, teaching on-line classes, working face-to-face with students at Winter Lakes Elementary and serving as a WLE Learning specialist. Management of the academic progress and attendance for a group of students throughout the school year is the primary role of the Learning Specialist. Bilingual candidates and candidates experienced in working with bilingual students and families strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Title: Teacher Assignment: Winter Lakes School
Reports to: Principal Evaluated by: Principal
Position Overview: Instruction of students shall include skill development, the expansion of knowledge and developing the ability to reason. Responsibilities include supervision, guidance, discipline, and safety of students. The use of independent judgment and decision making is required in many matters not having established rules, regulations, policies or precedent. Instruction includes multiple grade levels and the ability to differentiate curriculum. Frequent communication with parents is a must.
Essential Job Functions:- Identifies the needs of individual students by continuous assessment of their performance and abilities.
- Uses identified student needs to plan instruction.
- Individualizes instruction.
- Uses a variety of appropriate methods and materials to implement instruction.
- Organizes and manages classroom to create the optimum learning conditions.
- Works collaboratively with other staff.
- Applies learning theories to meet the needs of students.
- Evaluates and reports student progress.
- Supervises students in and out of the classroom.
- Initiates, plans, and carries out parent conferences/communications.
- Initiates and maintains communication with parents and colleagues.
- Plans and coordinates additional activities.
- Other duties as assigned
Other Job Functions:- Participates in in-service and professional development activities.
- Assists in the assessment of building level needs and the planning required to meet those needs.
- Collaborates in on-going professional development.
- Sets and carries out goals each year.
Qualifications:- Knowledge of:
- Current concepts, methods, and procedures of curriculum development and implementation.
- Laws, rules, policies, and trends regarding instruction
- Evaluation techniques.
- Standards based education.
- Human development and learning.
- Behavior management techniques.
- Communication techniques.
- Current health and safety procedures and practices.
Ability to:- Develop appropriate curriculum.
- Interpret and comply with laws, rules, and policies.
- Evaluate student needs and progress.
- Implement accepted principles of instruction.
- Maintain acceptable student behavior and discipline.
- Communicate effectively.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Maintain confidentiality
Experience:- Demonstrated competency through college preparation, student teaching, and/or classroom experience, and professional development.
License:- Current Oregon license with appropriate endorsement in area of assignment
- Current ODL.
Physical Requirements:
In an eight-hour day, employee may
