UP Education Network manages and operates three schools in Boston, MA. We serve over 1,400 elementary and middle school students in grades PreK-8. UP is invited by local school districts to transform district schools into exceptional learning environments. Role
The Talent Team Administrator will be a critical member of the UP Talent Team. This person will provide behind-the-scenes support to ensure that the team is executing all functions effectively. They will also communicate directly with teachers to support the certification process across our three schools. An ideal candidate has some experience providing operations or administrative support; has demonstrated strong attention to detail and time management skills; believes in the importance of representation and equity in school staff; builds strong relationships with a range of stakeholders; and is excited to learn and grow to help UP’s Talent Team thrive. This role reports to the Managing Director of Recruitment and Staffing.
Specific Responsibilities
HR Support

  • Lead the onboarding and offboarding process for network staff and support the onboarding and offboarding process for school-based (BPS) employees; including creating offer letters for network and school-based hiring managers
  • Create templates and support with drafting documents as needed related to the staff development process (recruiting, performance, recommitment, discipline) as well as annual handbook and working condition updates
  • Support recruitment efforts as needed, including phone screening candidates during peak season, updating selection day materials, and supporting at career fairs as needed

Certification Support

  • Lead the Talent Team’s certification support for school-based employees; this includes:
  • Track the certification status of school-based employees and maintain up to date records around certification
  • Schedule 1-on-1 check-ins with employees who are working towards certification
  • Organize peer study groups
  • Create and providing other resources as needed to support staff towards certification, including connecting staff to external resources (BPS, partner organizations, MTEL courses)
  • Submit waivers annually for staff who require them as they work towards certification
  • Report certification data as needed to the UP leadership team or board

Data and Website Maintenance

  • Maintain data platforms (Bamboo and Jobvite) that support HR and Recruitment functions
  • Support with pulling data for team trackers and dashboards
  • Ensure all Recruitment postings are up-to-date across platforms regularly
  • Update Talent-related social media pages, including LinkedIn and Glassdoor
  • Support Development Team data maintenance as needed
  • Maintain UP onboarding and certification websites as well as the Talent pages of the UP Intranet

Qualifications

  • A strong belief in UP Education Network’s mission
  • Experience working in schools and/or in an operations position preferred
  • Strong time management and organization skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Google products (Drive, Docs, Sheets)
  • Current authorization to work in the United States – A candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.

Compensation
This position falls into UP Education Network’s Manager salary band. Additionally, UP offers medical, dental and vision insurance coverage that subsidizes the majority of the employee, spouse/domestic partner, and child premiums.
