Mayflower’s R&D focus includes GPS/INS systems, adaptive space-time antenna control techniques, data link receivers, attitude determination and control systems, and wireless communication systems. This position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.

    Planned growth and increased production have created an urgent need for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee all Strategic Sourcing initiatives within Mayflower. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for establishing and executing the supply chain strategy to successfully support new development and/or our existing production programs. Successful candidate will represent Procurement to the program and engineering teams and will work collaboratively across all functions. Additional responsibilities will include supplier evaluation, selection, negotiations, establishing long term contracts as well as the management of complex supplier programs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage all elements of the sourcing process including obtaining and influencing program’s requirements; analysis of commodities and sources, issuance of various solicitations (Requests for Information, Requests for Proposal and Requests for Quote); supplier selection, negotiation and contract formation
    • Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.
    • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
    • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, engineering, and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers.
    • Analyze information about supplier performance or procurement program success.
    • Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.
    • Develop or implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers.
    • Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality.
    • Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
    • Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.
    • Effectively locate and source key materials suppliers, while analyzing the total cost associated with procuring an item or service.̥
    • Establish methods of meeting customer satisfaction goals.
    • Lead several complex supply chain sourcing projects concurrently across multiple programs

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or Engineering
    • 6+ years or experience in a related field such as supply chain, procurement, contracts or program management.
    • Demonstrated success establishing sourcing strategies, negotiating long-term, high-value contracts and managing multiple complex programs
    • DoD experience or Contract Manufacturing experience required
    • Previous support of new product development desired
    • Program/project management experience is a plus
