Organization: Choctaw Defense Manufacturing, LLC. FLSA Class: Exempt

Job Summary:

Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of the Inventory and Purchasing Departments. Responsible for the performance of all department functions, including:

  • Supply Chain Management
  • Scheduling
  • Material Management
  • Budgeting/Forecasting
  • Supports Manufacturing Operations

Primary Tasks:

  • Lead the Supply Chain Team.
  • Teach, coach, mentor and train the Supply Chain Team in their respective areas of expertise.
  • Forecast departmental efforts to support manufacturing operations.
    • Negotiate purchase pricing with vendors.
    • Expand our vendor listing to meet manufacturing demand.
    • Ensure the most cost-effective methods for purchasing are researched and utilized.
    • Maintain written agreements, purchase orders, and contractual documents.
    • Improve the Supply Chain Cycle.
    • Manage the Purchasing Department’s annual budget; establish priorities; and ensure completion of all tasks assigned.
  • Ensure the constant flow of material via Receiving, Put-Away, Stock, Kitting, replenishment, packaging/shipping to the customer.
  • Contribute to the CDM team for all programs from Gate #1 thru Gate #10 (Build To Print).
  • Oversee the establishment and maintaining the Inventory Accuracy Program.
  • Oversees the time management and execution Vendor Managed Inventory to ensure the material meets the timeline and budget of the contract.
  • Evaluates on an annual basis- Shipping brokerage contracts for CDM and ensures FEDEX, UPS, and other transportation assets are re-negotiated, as necessary.
  • Oversees all POs, CofC, BOL, and Supplier Shipping orders to ensure all USG and commercial timelines are met.
  • Assists, supports, and recommends objectives in each area of operation. Assists and develops specific short-term and long-term plans and program in coordination with annual budget requests and financial estimates.
  • Oversees warehouse functions and ensures the current layout (including outside areas are properly marked, accounted for, and professionally maintained.
  • Establish, maintain, and/or dispose of all obsolete material.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required/Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:


  • Supply Chain Management certifications (CPIM: Certified Production and Inventory Management; CSCP: Certified Supply Chain Professional-(preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business Management or a closely related field (preferred) or relevant leadership experience

  • 5 years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2-5 years of ERP experience

  • Ability to lead people
  • MS Office Suite, writing skills , and the latest SCM trends/technology

  • Five years of successive Purchasing and Inventory leadership experience

Proficient in Project Management and Supply Chain operations
