Steel Detailer/Project Manager
Job description
Capco Steel, Inc. is a steel contractor specializing in self-storage facility design, fabrication, and erection. Capco Steel has been in operation for more than 37 years. Our headquarters is in San Antonio, Texas. Due to significant company growth, we have immediate openings for a steel detailer and designer who is highly motivated, conscientious, and wants to work for a company that values his/her hard work and contribution.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· The ability to read Architectural, Structural design documents and interpret details is required. Based on review of these drawings, the employee must be able to interpret, transpose details and create additional details, as well as layout in AutoCAD for the assembly of Capco Shop Drawings.
· Ensure that the shop drawings are completed on time so that they can be thoroughly reviewed in-house, submitted to the design team for approval, and sent to the manufacturer for fabrication.
· All discrepancies within the design documents must be properly documented and submitted, as well as any questions to the steel manager or design team for review.
· Review any design changes and make the required modifications to the shop drawings. Notify the steel manager of potential changes in scope.
· Possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to the completion of challenging assignments.
· Attend and actively participate in weekly production meetings.
· Support Capco Team Members that coincides with the company's goals and values.
· Review the work of other steel detailers and steel production fabrication lists.
· Knowledge of and adherence to all company policies and procedures.
· As needed, provide jobsite personnel with support, guidance, and clarification.
· Professionally represent the company in all interactions with coworkers and external team members, including Subcontractors, Owners, and Architects.
Job Requirements
· 3 years minimum steel detailing experience with cold formed framing systems and structural steel.
· Self-storage construction experience is required.
· Must be an expert using AutoCAD.
· Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Excellent written and oral communication and listening skills.
· Must be a team player.
· Performs project duties with little supervision.
· Must have a professional appearance and a positive attitude.
· Exceptional technical and time management skills, as well as the ability to adapt to any situation and meet deadlines.
· Must be self-motivated and goal oriented.
· Ability to handle multiple projects at a time and switch tasks as needed.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $130,633.53 per year
