Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for oversight in the day-to-day operations of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll and General Accounting to ensure compliance with all financial controls.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial reports, records and general ledgers; prepare and analyze budgets and perform bookkeeping
- Process daily/monthly accounts receivables and payables; Reconcile and balance accounts
- Maintain and update all Workers Compensation Board Time Matters and Default Management Reports; issue reports to the Board each month – Handle day to day items as needed or requested from the Board
- Compiles month end adjusting entries for financial statement preparation.
- Processes movements of funds between multiple accounts.
- Balance monthly all Trusts and issue monthly payments to the Workers Compensation Board
- Maintenance and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts.
- Assist the consulting CPA firm in the preparation of all year end data and journal entries required for Audited Financial Statement and tax purposes.
- Process all settlement agreements received from the Workers Compensation Board and Issue monthly invoices for all member of the trusts with a signed agreement
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong people and management skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including but not limited to QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Superb, professional, time management and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting and/or equivalent; industry-related experience.
- Minimum two years accounting experience
