Job Description


The Staff Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, inventory management, performing account reconciliations, preparing tax returns, assisting with the close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining account reconciliations. You will also be assisting the Controller and Sr. Director of Finance as needed, respond to information requests by management, assist with audit preparations, and performance other accounting duties as assigned.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Preparing journal entries, analysis, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Support variance analysis.
  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Support quarterly and annual sales, use, CAT and VAT tax filings.
  • Support Franchise and Federal tax return preparation.
  • Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of intercompany accounts with other affiliates worldwide .
  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of accounting and finance experience (including in-depth cost and general accounting); previous experience within a regulated manufacturing, medical, or pharmaceutical environment preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) a plus
  • Working knowledge of financial concepts, theory, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel; working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong experience with large enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and various accounting software packages.
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX compliance) preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
