Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to forge a career in the Hardware & Home Improvement (HHI) Division with a focus on driving profitability & revenue growth. You will partner with the marketing & engineering organization to develop profitable business cases for New Product Introductions (NPI). In addition, you will be responsible for a wide range of financial reporting and analysis including preparation of consolidated financial statements, SG&A reporting, returns analysis, and variance analysis. There will be a constant focus on building efficiency via process improvement/ simplification.
You will be instrumental in maintaining a strong control environment and have the opportunity to be a part of key projects within the organization. Additionally, you will be afforded diversity with interaction within the organization as a finance liaison and be a part of a dynamic team. Please note, we are currently working a hybrid schedule. This person will be expected to work 3 days onsite in our Lake Forest office and 2 days remote.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- (25%) Develop financial models to build business cases for new product introductions
- (20%) Complete other special projects for various departments as necessary. Acts as the finance partner on special project teams.
- (20%) Coordinate & prepare annual budgets and monthly estimates for Marketing and Engineering departments
- (15%) Streamline product profitability reporting and work with the marketing team to optimize product portfolio profitability
- (10%) Drive accountability for NPI Results through post audits of new product launch results
- (10%) Prepare & analyze actual monthly results and related variance analysis for Marketing and Engineering departments
Education and Experience Profile
- 3+ years Finance/Accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent required
Required Skills
- Ability to create and maintain strong business partnerships with internal customers
- Strong P&L experience
- Commercial finance experience
- Self-starter with strong business acumen, problem solving skills, and ability to work independently
- Knowledge of financial analysis, including NPV, IRR, ROI, and payback
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles including full understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
- Advanced PC skills, specifically strong Excel, Access, and data mining
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Experience with Essbase, SAP and Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) a plus
