Job description
Davidson is seeking an Sr. Analyst Performance Lead located in Huntsville, AL.
- Sr. System Analyst Performance Lead – Performance conducts a wide variety of tasks developing, maintaining and integrating specialized mathematical-based modeling and simulation, as well as analyzing results of mathematic modeling to develop requirements for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System (MDS) in a model-based systems engineering environment (MBSE)
- Modeling and simulation tasks drive end-to-end performance analysis of the MDS
- Individual will lead teams of analysts in development, updating, and benchmarking/anchoring of BMDS M&S tools to support system analysis tasks and develop integrated system requirements
- Individual will conduct technical meetings with government and industry subject matter experts to analyze and formulate performance and functional requirements for system-of-system level specifications
Requirements:
- 20 years of experience with a degree in an engineering, mathematics or physics: Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD.
- Individual must have a strong technical background in using numerical modeling and simulation (M&S) using a high-level programming language such as MATLAB, or similar language environment to develop system performance requirements
- Individual must be able to demonstrate knowledge of building and/or analyzing M&S for one-or-more missile defense-related system types: EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, kill vehicles, missiles/interceptors, threats & countermeasures, target discrimination, or command and control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.)
- Candidate must demonstrate ability to think critically to develop and capture concepts in technical papers, presentations, and discussions
- Individual must possess good oral and written communication skills and have experience developing specification documents.
- Ability to assume a technical leadership role
Desired Competencies/Experience/Certifications:
- Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.)
- Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems ((e.g., aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.), a discriminator in selection
- Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Glide Phase Intercept (GPI), Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS), Fire Control, C2BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, etc.)
- Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems
