Culture ATX Salon (@cultureatxsalon) is a high-end salon and spa nestled at the edge of Austin's Hill Country adjacent to Lake Travis in the affluent Lakeway / Bee Cave community. Founded by LA transplants and sisters, Natalie Zetino (@hair_jefa) and Jessica Riddersen (@jessicariddy_), Culture’s ascent to Austin’s most IG-worthy salon has been through a heavy investment on social media. Culture is seeking a Social Media Assistant to join the fun, energetic, and social media obsessed team at Culture. The ideal candidate has a passion for social media and would love to spend all day hanging out at a hair salon. Culture regularly works with influencers and celebrities, so we're keen to find someone that can help collaborate with our Social Media Manager to capture transformations, stay on trend, and build on the brand aesthetic.

The position has a bit of flexibility in terms of hours and days as the salon is open Monday - Saturday. We would, however, need someone available a few Saturdays per month as that is a popular day at the salon.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Social Media Manager with content creation, content reviews, messages, among other items
• Work with social media agency by reviewing posts, drafting copy, confirming tags are correct, and catching and correct errors in the content calendar
• Capture hair transformations, candid moments, product photography, etc.
• Respond to DMs and comments in the Culture brand voice
• Review social media analytics and determine what is working and what needs to be changed
• Assist with influencer marketing (identify emerging Austin-based influencers, influencers that may be visiting Austin and could come into the salon, etc.)
• Bonus: Create day-of posts and videos

Qualifications:

• Social Media obsessed
• Organized - the type of person that color codes their planner (and has a planner, for that matter)
• Communicative - not afraid to walk up to a client and politely ask to take their photo
• Strategic - able to analyze what other salons are doing on social media and emulate what’s working
• Deliberate - the type of person that takes the time to re-read messages / captions and make any corrections before pressing send / post
• Bonus: A degree or experience that indicates you love hair / beauty / salon life
• Bonus: A degree that indicates you’d be good at social media

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.50 per hour
