Job description
Founded in 1963, Frank Murken Products (FMP) is a gasket fabricator, hose assembly fabricator and distributor supplying the Aerospace, Construction, Transportation, Pharmaceutical, Energy, Chemical and Semi-conductor markets.
FMP is seeking a motivated, hard-working individual to join our Shipping and Receiving team in our Schenectady, NY location! As a key member of the organization, you will support transactions related to incoming and outgoing manufacturing and distribution operations. You will work with a team in handling the receipt and delivery of all incoming shipments while ensuring accuracy in outgoing shipments. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone looking to grow within our organization. This position is full-time (40 hours/week).
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the receipt of all incoming shipments and the accurate put-away of inventory
- Responsible for accurate shipping label creation, packaging, and shipment of customer orders
- Package, prepare, and arrange pick-up pallets of parts and hoses if necessary
- On and off-loading of trucks -- use of forklift or pallet jack is required
- Measuring and cutting lengths of hose per customer requirements
- Accurate picking of parts per customer packing list
- Contact suppliers, carriers, and division personnel concerning losses, shortages, and damaged or delayed shipments. Prepare and submit claims to carriers and notify FMP purchasing personnel of any further contact with the supplier is required.
- Metering and dimensional calculation of UPS and FedEx packages
- Other duties may include: assisting with hose and gasket fabrication, and inventorying parts
Qualifications:
- 1 year shipping & receiving or warehouse experience - preferred
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as inventory documents, pick and packing lists, and customer orders
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving practices and procedures - preferred
- Ability to lift packages and hose reels up to and including 75 pounds
- Ability to prioritize and multitask

Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 8-hour shift (8AM-4:30PM)
- Day shift
Salary --- $17-$19 depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
