Ensure medical equipment and instrumentation used for patient care is safe, reliable, and effective. Utilize specialized knowledge in engineering, biology, and biomechanical principles to maintain and repair hi-tech diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
Job Duties
Provide technical support for hi-tech clinical equipment throughout the healthcare system. Support includes scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and performance of timely corrective maintenance on hi-tech clinical equipment used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
Document service events in the C.E. database and maintain service manuals in accordance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
Coordinate the installation of new medical equipment.
Work with other support departments to interface medical equipment with various in-house systems.
Instruct clinical staff on the safety, proper operation and user maintenance of patient care equipment.
Participate in the on-call rotation for the Clinical Engineering Department. Responds to afterhours calls related to all clinical equipment supported.
Understand and comply with all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures and operational standards to support a safe and organized work environment.
Shares applied knowledge and trains with other technicians
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualificiations

Education, Credentials, Licenses:
Associates degree in biomedical, Electronics technology, or other related fields (or military equivalent).
Specialized Knowledge: Advanced electronic troubleshooting techniques Computer skills Microporecessor based systems troubleshooting techniques
Kind and Length of Experience: Two years of service experience on associated medical equipment
