Job description
The Senior Accounts-Receivable Accountant provides technical accounting expertise to the Accounting and Finance team by fulfilling accounting related tasks. Key job responsibilities include working with customer invoices, contracts, credit memos, account reconciliations, and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations. Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides a record of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions. Assist in setting up processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, per the company's revenue recognition policy. Generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use.
What You'll Do

Contract Review and Interpretation: Interprets contracts and invoices with available knowledge and implements credit memos within the scope of authority

Compares customer invoice entries to contracts and sales orders and makes corrections as needed

Reviews and interprets sales contracts to confirm agreement details

Handles ticketing queue from customers, sales teams, and other internal inquiries and escalates as needed

Completes assigned account reconciliations at month-end (as either preparer or reviewer)

Ensures proper recognition of revenue is captured on the organization's financial statements

Contributes to team or matrixed team through the adaptation of techniques and approaches to support projects
Technical Accounting Expertise

Provides accounting expertise in assigned area of accounts receivable

Conducts research on technical or new accounting issues and prepares accompanying memo with conclusion

Demonstrates and applies strong accounting knowledge, acumen, and technical expertise

Handles outside auditor questions and provides support to outside auditors, tax service providers, and other project personnel as requested

Works on moderately ambiguous problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors

Solves issues and situations that are composed of various factors; requires an inquisitive mindset to identify underlying problems

What You'll Need
-
Requires a minimum of 4+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting; or 2 years and a Master’s degree

Prior SaaS experience is strongly preferred

Prior working experience with Salesforce is strongly preferred

Proficient Spreadsheet skills – (running and creating functions, pivot tables, and charts)

Strong communication (written, verbal, and listening) and collaborative skills to work with many personalities inside and outside of the company

CPA preferred
Travel Requirement

Less than 10% of travel

Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.
