American Express is the leading payment card issuer for small businesses in the United States and supports business owners with products and services to help them run and grow their businesses. Global Commercial Services (GCS) is committed to service and innovation and offers our Commercial Card Members a wide range of differentiated products and services. GCS is a core operating group of American Express and has delivered robust growth over the past decade. GCS partners with small businesses and corporate clients to help them manage business expenses and make large purchases through proprietary payment solutions and expense management tools. The U.S. SME Specialty Teams business is a fast-growing B2B payments business with differentiated non-card payment offerings.

The US FX International Payments (FXIP) business facilitates transactions totaling over $13B for over 10K customers. Our customers use our platform to manage their global, non-card payments for goods and services and for inter-company funding across industries such as retail, wholesale, professional services, charities, and manufacturing. Global Pay is a new online platform that allows customers to pay international and domestic suppliers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving enrollments, activations and spend from customers. You will be the customer facing colleague responsible for engaging with prospective and current customers using American Express Sales Framework guidelines, following all compliance guidelines and procedures, and promoting and protecting the American Express brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive clear and effective outbound telephone-based consultation and account development
  • Assess client needs, provide appropriate solutions and resolve/redirect client concerns in timely manner
  • Earn client trust to recommend payment efficiencies, while demonstrating value
  • Adhere to Blue Box Values, GCS Sales Practices and Standard Operating Procedure, American Express Leadership Behaviors
  • Maintain accurate and timely record keeping and pipeline management through CRM basis
  • Apply consultative selling skills to achieve enrollment, activation, and payment growth
  • Capture Voice of Customer feedback and communicate in an organized, clear and concise manner
  • Help foster diverse, inclusive, and positive Specialty Team culture

Strong organizational, self-motivation and excellent time management skills, with strong attention to detail plus a disciplined work ethic will help make colleagues successful in this role. The FXIP/Global Pay team seeks talent who has a commitment to doing things the right way and delivering a premium customer experience across our specialty B2B solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Corporate B2B Business knowledge and payments experience.
  • Proven organizational, self-motivation and excellent time management skills, with strong attention to detail, disciplined work ethic & possess an enthusiastic can-do attitude.
  • Communicate in an organized, clear, and concise manner to effectively express ideas, plans, actions, and projects to support customer needs.
  • Bachelor’s Degree recommended.
  • Experience building and managing pipeline opportunities within a CRM.
  • High energy and a level of desire to achieve goals beyond what is required.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
