Pulmonary Medicine Associates is seeking a full time PSR position to triage incoming calls to outpatient clinic locations in Sacramento and Roseville. This position will mainly be non-patient facing and will require follow up calls to patients and coordination with medical assistants and provides to ensure positive patient experiences and outcomes. Medical terminology, previous healthcare or office experience desirable, but not required as we will provide training. Valid CA DL required. Ability to travel to both clinics as needed to provide support, depending on volume and staffing. HS diploma or equivalent required. Work setting is busy and fast-paced with varying noise level. Ability to focus and multitask a must.
- Assists in answering incoming phone calls to the general clinic extensions.
- Updates demographic and insurance information in patient’s account as needed.
- Verifies insurance eligibility prior to appointment.
- Reschedules patients noted on the reminder call report on an occasional basis.
- Answers phones and makes same day and future patient appointments in EMR according to clinician protocols.
- Assists Check-Out by sending orders that require no authorization occasionally
- Cross trained as PSR Check-In/Check-Out
- Acts as back up for PSR Check-In/Check-Out position, as needed or requested.
