The Learning and Brain Development Lab is seeking a Program Coordinator - Recruitment who will oversee community outreach and recruitment of infant and child participants, with a particular focus on recruitment and retention of participants for an NIH-funded longitudinal study of attention development in the first year of infancy. The Program Coordinator - Recruitment will work as part of a team comprised of the Principal Investigator, lab research staff, and graduate and undergraduate students to develop and execute strategies for reaching recruitment goals. Major responsibilities will include cultivating partnerships with organizations in the greater New Orleans area (e.g., hospitals, daycares, museums, etc.) to support community outreach and participant recruitment, working with these community partners to organize recruitment activities, growing our digital media presence to support participant recruitment, maintaining and organizing our participant recruitment databases, and overseeing student involvement in recruitment activities. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to communicate effectively with lab members, community partners, and family volunteers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to pay rigorous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and with other lab members
  • Strong time management skills and ability to effectively manage multiple assignments.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.
  • Desire to acquire new skills and competencies in a dynamic research atmosphere.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications
  • Comfortable speaking to individuals on the phone
Required Education and/or Experience • Bachelor’s Degree and one year of directly related experience. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered. Preferred Qualifications • Demonstrated interest in developmental research.
  • Familiarity with organizations in the greater New Orleans area that support new parents and their families.
  • Knowledge in digital marketing and experience with social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram
  • Proficiency in using data management software (e.g., FileMaker Pro, REDCap)
