Job Summary
The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed/instructed in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures. You will report directly to the Food Service Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three (3) years minimum experience.
- Institutional cooking experience is preferred.
- Must have knowledge of various cooking methods, and must have the ability to follow sanitation procedures.
Essential Functions
- Prepare meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
- Prepare meals as necessary and on a timely basis in accordance with Federal Regulations.
- Prepare food in accordance with established portion control procedures to meet recommended daily allowances.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow planned menus, recipes, and meal schedules.Obtain food supplies for next meal.
- Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as with our established policies and procedures.
- Assure that safety regulations are followed at all times by all personnel.
- Follow Infection Control procedures when performing daily tasks.
- Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment and follow all applicable food regulatory rules and procedures.
- Clean work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
- Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
- Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
- Carry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
- Sweep and mop floors as directed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
