Barrday, a manufacturer of composite materials, is in search of a Production Supervisor.

We are headquartered outside of Toronto, Canada in Cambridge, ON, with manufacturing facilities in Charlotte, NC and Millbury, MA. Our success is based on developing technologically advanced fiber reinforcement, prepreg and other material solutions for our customers in the aerospace, defense, industrial, energy and protective markets.
SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor will assist in promoting an environment which fosters continuous improvement through Lean methodology, collaboration, problem solving, and high performance. This position is responsible for managing associate performance, driving positive change, ensuring results are timely and satisfying customer needs. The successful candidate will be eager to learn new things and put them into practice and will be heavily involved in progressing our facility to World Class Manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise employees in manner which reflects company values with constant attention to safe practices and a healthy environment.
- Maintain a high level of visibility on the plant floor level to ensure World Class Manufacturing systems are integrated into the production process and daily work practices.
- Work with the team to make data driven decisions to improve production, quality, and safety.
- Monitor and report production performance as it relates to output, yield, and other KPI’s
- Demonstrate a commitment to Operational Excellence through fostering and promoting an environment of continuous improvement.
- Communicate production goals, and help train all production employees on GMP, SOPs, and job expectations.
- Liaise with Plant Engineering to ensure appropriate maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Demonstrate the ability to drive results, be proactive and make improvement suggestions.
- Actively participate in problem solving initiatives (root cause analysis, 5S, Kaizen or other lean manufacturing events).
- Other duties as assigned
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2 year degree/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience, 4 year degree preferred
- Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work among employees
- Data analytics and computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Power BI
- Excellent planning, problem solving and attention to detail.
- Strong team player, good work ethic, and ability to be flexible and work within a collaborative team environment to meet production and company needs.
- Ability to identify problems and offer real world resolutions within constrained timelines.
- Knowledge of tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, TQM and other quality management practices would be an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily plant floor; some office and computer time. Exposure to noise and some chemical products in conditions where all appropriate protective equipment is available.
