TGH is the area’s only level I trauma center and one of just two ABA-verified adult & pediatric burn centers in Florida. With five medical helicopters*, we transport critically injured or ill patients from 23 surrounding counties to receive the advanced care they need. Job Summary
Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Accounts, performs functions involved in the billing of hospital receivables, the follow up for payments, customer service duties, the processing and reconciliation of various charge-entry, edit and error reports. Is consistent, dependable and accurate in carrying out responsibilities to a successful conclusion. Clearly understands purpose, objectives practices and procedures of the department. Performs other tasks that may be assigned by the Manager. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- Minimum of one (1) year billing and/or collections experience working in a medical setting
- Understands basic Accounting responsibilities such as balancing money to a bank deposit/EFT, creating a deposit to send to the bank, ability to research variances while posting cash, etc.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with individuals.
- Computer skills
- Epic experience preferred.
