The Operations Manager directs all aspects of production at the Sparrows Point Vehicle Processing Center. This role is a champion for the PDCA cycle and is responsible for adhering to the Way of Working program, our uniform framework for effectively managing HSEQC and ISO compliance. This position will report directly to the General Manager and will lead a team of operations supervisors, salaried staff, and production employees. In collaboration with the Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager, is accountable for achieving site objectives in key performance areas of EHS, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Employees.
Job Requirements:
Oversee a staff of 4 to 5 supervisors, salaried staff, and hourly employees.- Responsible for all business aspects for site including Profit and Loss, Planning and Forecasting, Job Analysis, and Staffing.
- Influence and drive the business unit’s strategic direction to meet goals and produce a positive operational and financial impact to P&L
- Performs critical, independent decision making that directly influences workflow and processes.
- Responsible for designing and implementing programs/processes to ensure all quality standards are met (internal, customer, ISO, etc.).
- Engaging the CAPA process (RC/CA) and weekly CAP-DO meetings with Quality and/or Customer representatives.
- FMEA and JSA development as needed
- Creation of Standard Operating Procedures through collaboration with Quality and Continuous Improvement.
- Periodic audits in accordance with quality program requirements.
- Track and report operational metrics as determined by General Manager.
- Investigation, containment, effective root cause analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures
- Champion WW’s Safety-First program.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as determined by management.
