The Prevention and Outreach Provider (POP) will participate in STI-testing-related aspects of the agency's Prevention and Outreach program, as well as provide support to clinical staff and patient outreach for preventive and optimizing health programs. Primary responsibilities may include providing screening and assessment/risk reduction counseling to clients seen at Callen-Lorde as well as through stand-alone testing appointments in accordance with the established Callen-Lorde testing protocol. Additionally, the POP may help implement related interventions through funded grants and contracts, as needed, and for clinic-wide preventative health interventions. Responsibilities may include internal data collection, reporting, and analyzing for contractual submission, as applicable. In addition, the POP may participate in Callen-Lorde's active recruitment and referrals for related prevention programs, research and services, community outreach, education, and marketing activities, through community events in the New York metropolitan area and collaborations with other CBOs, as needed. Responsibilities may include involvement in the design, implementation, and maintenance of prevention and optimizing health interventions, working with relevant research studies, and the application of biomedical interventions within an integrated healthcare setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma required, College degree (BA/BS) preferred.
- Experience in health care, HIV service delivery, or social services preferred.
- Certification as a Phlebotomist is required, Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.

- Demonstrated knowledge of city, state, national, and global prevention strategies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk reduction theory as it applies to the transmission of HIV and other STIs.
- Working knowledge of biomedical interventions including nPEP, PrEP, and Treatment as Prevention.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English or other needed language) preferred.
- Ability to work within a team-based structure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong writing skills.
- Ability to self-manage multiple tasks.
- Computer literacy.
