Job description:

We have an opportunity for a medical scribe. This position accompanies the physician during patient exams and transcribes notes into the electronic medical records system. Duties also include some front office work (scheduling appointments, answering phones), and assisting in testing/working patients up.

This position is located in our Portland office, with 3-4 days per month in our Seaside location.

If you have experience in an optometric clinic or as a medical assistant, this is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in an ophthalmology practice offering professional growth. Experience is not required; we will train; must be able to type 60-70 wpm.

Whether you are an experienced scribe, a medical assistant interested in learning about eyecare, or you have no experience in healthcare but have a desire to learn, we would like to hear from you! We have an inhouse training program and can provide the training you need regardless of your level of experience.

Responsibilities

At our practice, you will be part of small team and share the responsibility for

-Opening and closing exam rooms for the day

-maintain cleanliness and orderliness of waiting room, optical area, and entire office inside and out

-performing autorefraction

-Lensometry

-Performing optos and other testing when needed

-providing patient education

-navigating patient flow throughout the office.

-Cleaning instruments appropriately.

-has reliable transportation and is willing/able to travel to Seaside.

-Be a team player! We are a small office with minimal staff, we all pitch in to help when necessary. We are looking for someone with experience as an optician. Being licensed is a huge plus, but not required. We are a fun and energetic office, and we expect everyone to work hard along with all of us to give the best experience we can to each person that calls our office and walks in our doors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.50 - $22.00 per hour
