MEDICAL BILLER - OPHTHALMOLOGY PRACTICE
Multi-subspecialty private ophthalmology practice is seeking an experienced medical biller to join our awesome billing department team! The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and 2+ years medical practice billing experience - ophthalmology preferred, but not required. ASC billing a plus!
Duties:
Multi-subspecialty private ophthalmology practice is seeking an experienced medical biller to join our awesome billing department team! The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and 2+ years medical practice billing experience - ophthalmology preferred, but not required. ASC billing a plus!
Duties:
- Prepare and file all insurance claims, obtain prior authorizations and review and follow up on all incorrect payments or denials
- Follow up with insurance companies and insurance adjusters to ensure timely and accurate payment
- Work aging reports and other monthly reports
- Post all incoming patient and insurance payments
- Follow up on accounts receivable claims, appeals and denials
- Complete all patient/insurance follow up and collections on past due accounts
- Answer patient calls and billing inquiries
Requirements:
- 2+ years medical billing experience with a medical practice - ophthalmology specialty preferred
- Full understanding of the billing cycle to include all aspects of registration and billing
- Understand documentation, claim filing, payment posting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Enjoys working with team, but also able to work independently
