Mechanical Engineer- HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing

Job Description:

Provide HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing design/engineering for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential buildings projects.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing systems design.

· Perform load calculations, life cycle cost analysis, and energy modeling.

· Coordinate with other in-house building design disciplines.

· Interact with owners, contractors, and suppliers through meetings, phone call, and/or email.

· Assist with drafting Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing plans and details.

· Assist in the development of contract specifications.

· Research the application of new procedures and/or products.

· Certify (stamp and sign) construction documents after through design and review of each project.

· Review contractor submittals for conformance with construction documents.

· Perform very thorough field surveys of existing building systems.

· Review installation of designed equipment/systems for compliance with construction documents.

· Troubleshooting issues with existing Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing systems.

· Mentor entry level engineers.

· Review work performed by entry level engineers and experienced designers.

Requirements:

· Must have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

· Engineer in Training (EIT) required or Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred but not required.

· Must be able to work with a team and/or independently.

· Must have a thorough knowledge of Indiana’s Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, Fuel Gas, Energy, and Fire Prevention Codes. Experience with Codes in neighboring states is a plus but is not required.

· Must be familiar with LEED and energy efficient design, LEED Green Associate or LEED AP a plus but is not required.

· Must be willing to do some traveling.
