Purpose of Position

Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, The Marketing Coordinator will assist in many aspects of the Nooksack Northwood Casino marketing efforts, including but not limited to, the marketing plan and budget to ensure optimum profitability, advertising strategy, market analysis and growth strategy, guest retention, competitor analysis, and new promotional approaches.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports Directly to: Marketing Manager
  • Supervises Directly: Marketing Staff

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Marketing Manager to ensure the department operates within fiscal and operational guidelines.
  • Submit information as needed to Marketing Manager to aid in the creation and analysis of weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports.
  • Research database information to identify customer demographics and interests; consults with Marketing Manager on methods of targeting, developing, and informing customers of upcoming events.
  • Can effectively handle Guest complaints and discrepancies in an efficient and courteous manner and reports results of each to Marketing Manager
  • Coordinate in developing strategies relating to analytical/database/direct marketing, promotions/special events.
  • Ensure a smooth and productive coordination with all departments to promote their products via printings, traditional/digital advertising, social media, website.
  • Aid in the development and strategies needed for Rewards Club and Player Development programs to ensure VIP programs are generating new high-end players, maintaining top tier player relationships, and reactivating high end players.
  • Maintain and/or conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights for possible future campaign development and/or go-to-market strategies. This may include the creation of proposals and/or recommendations on tactics to be submitted to the Marketing Manager.
  • At the request of the Marketing Manager, assist in the mentoring and/or leading of specific marketing staff to help solidify their knowledge, skills and/or abilities to maintain bench strength in the marketing department.
  • Work on advertising plans and media strategies, including traditional and digital media.
  • Contribute to creative advertising materials to be produced within the scope of approved budget.
  • Provide regular status reports, post-event reports, and/or analysis on marketing programs to Marketing Manager.
  • Effectively cooperates with and/or coordinates activities that could include events, marketing strategies, promotions, and training to insure a cohesive interdepartmental team relationship.
  • May prepare marketing activity reports and presents to Marketing Manager.
  • Contributions to ideas and opportunities that promote awareness of Nooksack Northwood Casino
  • When applicable anticipate, identify, and ensure customer needs are being met in the best possible way.
  • Help in monitoring customer satisfaction using comment cards.
  • Promote positive customer relations.
  • Responsible for knowing all events in the property.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and training.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, correctly analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to correctly respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively write copy, ads, articles and other types of documents that conform to prescribed style, size, formatting and/or content.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or if needed boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work correctly with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, ability to correctly apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Other

  • Demonstrate significant knowledge of budgeting and analysis to guide and develop annual budgets for the marketing department and all marketing functions.
  • Experienced in developing annual marketing calendars and/or marketing plans that meet the annual company revenue and profitability goals.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities; gives and welcomes feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit.
  • Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business or related field required or equivalent experience
  • Preferred three (3) years of responsibility working with budgets, planning and/or operational support in a tribal casino environment required
  • Sound knowledge of Casino databases required

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency License and Class III Washington State Gaming License.
  • Obtain and maintain a Washington State Class 12 Alcohol Server’s Permit and TIPS for Gaming Certification.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
