The Marketing Analytics Manager is responsible for analyzing data to support marketing, digital marketing, and customer experience leading to maximize profitable customer acquisition strategies and tactics. This role supports our broad marketing department and cross-functional teams in data gathering, data cleansing, and analyzing to identify opportunities for profitable customer acquisition and optimal experience. The Manager will also collaborate cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders in creating best practices, data validation and findings. A successful candidate will be able to analyze and translate complex data into straightforward explanations and be skilled in presenting findings to the broader team and leadership.
The Marketing Analytics Manager is an important role in customer acquisition and lifetime value with the ability to influence business and marketing strategy. This location will be based out of the Irvine office 2 days a week with the rest of the week optional for remote work.
Essential Job Functions:
Customer Trends, Reporting & KPI Tracking
  • Proactively monitor key performance indicators and benchmarks to identify marketing, geographic, competitive, and overall business trends that warrant deeper analysis and advise stakeholders of potential effects/outcomes.
  • Actively track industry and consumer trends, competition and other industry-related and marketing news.
  • Create and monitor marketing and digital reporting to provide visibility into portfolio, regional, and property-level marketing and brand performance.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to streamline reporting more effectively, working closely with IT, BI and Data & Analytics departments to execute on recommendations.
  • Maintain and advance departmental data analysis tools, reports and resources.
Leverage Analytics to Identify Marketing Optimization Opportunities
  • Develop, report, and analyze marketing channel data to provide recommendations in channel optimization, channel strategies, and operational support to deliver profitable revenue and increase customer lifetime value.
  • Develop ad-hoc analysis to support industry and customer changes to quickly, efficiently proactively shift marketing, and develop targeted marketing strategies.
  • Work closely with the marketing leadership, IT, BI and Data & Analytics functions to access, gather and analyze data to provide recommendations and solutions on customer acquisition to maximize revenue.
  • Support cross-functional projects related to revenue initiatives, product oversight, and/or operational efficiencies by ensuring consistent tracking and measurement of results.

Support Key Marketing Processes
  • Create best practices and standards for marketing channels and owners in reporting and analytics.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain data gathering process, tracking, and reporting in the department and channels.
  • Work closely with marketing leaders as well as cross functional teams including BI, IT, Revenue Management, Data & Analytics, Operations, etc. to deliver marketing performance and influence.
  • Support on other key initiatives and ad-hoc analysis as identified by the leadership team.
Marketing Department Support
  • Become fully proficient across different marketing systems, marketing channels, and internal systems to gather reporting data.
  • Support marketing team members and create best practices for marketing reporting and analytics across all channels including paid advertising, website, email, social media, online reputation, and CRM.
  • Validate data integrity through setup, tracking, gathering, and reporting processes.

Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in Business-based Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Digital Analytics, Consulting or Agency, or related industries; experience and interest in multi-family housing is preferred but not required.
  • BA/BS degree in Economics, Finance, Business or other quantitative focus; MBA a plus.
  • Results oriented with exceptional communication and analytical skills.
  • Experienced with leveraging medium to large data sets and able to determine appropriate data elements and structure to draw insights and create meaningful analyses that are actionable.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, drawing from both professional and personal experiences to bring new ideas to the table and not merely executing tasks as directed.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work autonomously to drive projects to the finish line with minimal need for oversight.
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across functions, and departments.
  • Strong self-awareness and executive presence with comfort working with stakeholders across various levels of the organization ranging from junior analysts to executive management.
  • Intellectually curious with a passion for consumer data.
  • Familiar with marketing, website, email, paid advertising, social media, lead generation, CRM, and online reputation data and systems.
  • Preferred familiarity with enterprise-level marketing systems and processes.
  • Able to actively query data directly within databases and systems.
  • Expert user of Excel with basic knowledge of VBA, experience in Power BI a plus.
  • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools, Alteryx, Access, SQL is preferred but not required.

The salary range for this position is $98,000.00 - $147,000.00 per year. New hires generally start between $98,000.00 - $123,000.00 per year. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.
This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
