Job description
Organizational and Leadership Effectiveness is responsible for enhancing organizational and leadership effectiveness through strategy formulation, execution, and management; culture, engagement, shared values, and change management; leadership development, coaching, and consultative services; and development of talent systems and solutions that drives excellence across the institution.
The Consultant:
- Serves as a consultant and practitioner responsible for advancing leadership, culture and engagement, change management initiatives, and overall organizational effectiveness
- Engages with leaders to advance strategic priorities and fulfill the mission of the university; Provides strategic consulting, design, and the implementation of organizational and leadership effectiveness interventions
- Supports the development of leaders, staff, and teams throughout the enterprise in support of the strategies and values of the university
- Develops leaders and teams through various organizational development (OD) interventions including providing recommendations to leaders, developing change strategy, engaging in leadership coaching and consulting, facilitating team sessions, and others as needed to consistently achieve results aligned to institutional and unit strategy
- Conducts organizational diagnostics and designs and executes solutions in organizational design, culture, values, employee engagement, leadership, succession planning, change leadership, and performance management
- Leads and supports all aspects of planning and executing change management efforts for of unit-specific and project-based strategy efforts for university academic and administrative units as well as for key enterprise-wide projects
- Applies a structured change management methodology with defined success metrics, identifies progress points and interval impact analyses, identifies risks and creates mitigation strategies, and supports communication planning, organizational readiness, and stakeholder analyses
- Engages and supports the shared values initiative, cultural assessments, engagements, and transformation including development and implementation of an employee engagement survey and action planning, engagement consultations, and strategy toolkit and execution plan; Develops collaboration and development plan for HRBPs across the enterprise
- Fosters and maintains strong collaborative partnerships, serves as trusted partner across the organization, and works closely with cross-functional teams to support organizational and leadership effectiveness efforts
- Applies industry knowledge and advanced understanding of concepts, principals, and technical capabilities to develop new practices, processes, and models; leads and manages a wide variety of highly complex projects of large scope which have long-term, precedent-setting impact on the organization
- Conveys difficult, complex, or sensitive information, facilitates productive dialogue and persuades decision-making on potential organizational solutions
- Collaborates with university and unit communications to support the design, development, delivery, and management of communications
- Creates and maintains relationships to advance priorities, generate momentum, enhance confidence, and positively influence institutional reputation and overall effectiveness
- Supports values-driven leadership to strengthen the alignment of behaviors, shared values, and the mission and strategy of the university.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
6 years of relevant experience required. Must demonstrate ability to lead highly complex cross-functional efforts and initiatives across large organizations, specifically higher education. Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to serve as trusted advisor and foster strong collaborative partnerships. Exhibits strong leadership skills and the ability to influence at all levels of leadership. Experience with and strong understanding of how people go through change and the change process. Brings creativity and innovation to complex situations, works collaboratively and strategically, and interacts with and influences diverse internal and external constituents. Identifies, analyzes, and addresses a wide variety of matters with a solutions-oriented lens in a high-intensity environment.
