JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for keeping the facilities operating and repairing any problems as they are discovered. The Maintenance Technician will be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around the facility.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage.
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
- Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
- Maintaining the building's HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
- Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage problems.
- Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity.
- Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with personnel in a pleasant manner.
- Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
- Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives supervision from the Manager. The position has formally assigned supervisory responsibility and authority. Must complete jobs without constant supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor and/or outdoor environment. Works standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. Steps, stoops, crawls, climbs, lifts, bends, kneels, pulls, and pushes while performing job duties such as heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 55 pounds. Physical work is a primary part of the job. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:
This position is subject to the DLP Staffing drug-free workplace policy which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or similar.
- Relevant license or certification.
- A valid driver's license.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Electrical and Plumbing.
- Experience with power tools and other equipment used in construction.
- Must pass a federal background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
Other:
Valid Drivers’ License Class C.
