The Role:
General Description
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for determining what work will be performed and when it will be executed based on established maintenance strategies, business priorities and budgetary guidelines. The planner is accountable for creating and providing accurate job plans for each scheduled job to includes parts, labor, instructions, or any other pertinent information to ensure safe, effective and efficient maintenance to support the plant’s production capabilities and the completion of capital projects.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Primary Responsibilities/Duties:
- Ensures planning activities are aligned with EHS compliance requirements
- Develops work packages and templates for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment and execution of maintenance work
- Generates and issues preventive/predictive maintenance work orders and inspection routes
- Reviews work requests with Production to identify all potential issues/reduce added scope
- Maintains accurate equipment specifications, info, parts lists (BOMs), and equipment maintenance history in ERP/CMMS and SAP
- Maintains and manages work order backlog
- Plans spare parts usage including quantity, costs, lead time, availability, etc.
- Participates in & support reliability processes as required
- Evaluates job feedback to improve future work plans
- Serves as a resource to maintenance technicians for job execution
- Supports the tracking and achievement of the planning KPIs
- Develops and update documentation for autonomous maintenance tasks if necessary
- Ensures planning work is accomplished through defined, measured, and continuously improved work processes; proactively identifies and leverages best practices developed across SI

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required (certified technician)
- Preferred a minimum of 3 years general craft experience (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument)
- Minimum of two years’ experience in maintenance planning
- Operational knowledge of ERP/CMMS; experience with SAP PM
- Proficient with MS Office applications
Desired Skills:
- Proficient in understanding and interpreting mechanical drawings and ability to sketch basic mechanical layouts
- Knowledge of relevant technical equipment and reliability drivers
- Ability to plan, organize and mobilize resources to achieve desired outcomes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to modify individual approach situationally
- Effective at managing changing priorities, demands and realigning resources to meet new demands
- Exercises sound decision making, and judgement aligned with site objectives
- Proficient in root cause analysis (RCA) and lean problem-solving techniques
- Accurate data entry, and ability to type on a computer at a functional pace to meet the demands of the job
- Highly developed planning, prioritizing, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with limited direction while managing competing deadlines & multiple projects
