This director-level position is in a team responsible for rendering legal advice and service for litigation and related matters for Natixis CIB Americas, including pre-litigation disputes, internal investigations, court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, responses to subpoenas, and governmental/regulatory inquiries. The position will also provide advice and support for regulatory projects and employment matters.

The salary range for this position will be between $220,000 - $260,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance

He/she/they will report to Senior Counsel – Litigation and be responsible working on a variety of litigation and litigation-related matters including the following:

  • supervising and managing litigation matters including developing litigation and settlement strategies with colleagues and/or external counsel for a wide range of disputes, including commercial and employment matters;
  • supervising, managing and/or conducting internal investigations in coordination with Natixis personnel and outside counsel, as appropriate, in connection with internal and governmental/regulatory matters;
  • working with legal colleagues in New York, Paris and other offices on multi-jurisdictional, cross-border legal matters;
  • responding to legal process (including subpoenas) in matters to which Natixis is not a party;
  • coordinating information and document collection for litigation-related matters;
  • working with current and former employees and coordinating with external counsel as needed on depositions and interviews for internal and governmental/regulatory investigations;
  • working with insurance providers on reporting and obtaining coverage for certain claims;
  • providing legal advice to Front Office, Compliance, Risk and Human Resources Departments;
  • working with Legal and various other groups including IT, Compliance, Risk, and Information Security on projects, with a focus on assessing legal risk and compliance with legal requirements and best practices; and
  • engaging and managing external counsel and vendors, as necessary and appropriate.


Profil et compétences requises


  • JD or LLM degree.
  • 4+ years of litigation experience at a large financial institution, regulatory enforcement agency and/or a leading law firm.
  • Experience with a broad range of litigation issues and litigation processes.
  • Skillful written communication, including the ability to convey thoughts clearly and succinctly and to communicate pertinent, complex information in a clear and organized manner.
  • High degree of integrity and strong work ethic. Timely follow- through on commitments. Promote best practices within department and enhance control over procedures.
  • Familiarity with e-discovery processes and platforms (e,g., Relativity) a plus.
  • Qualified candidates must currently be admitted to the bar of the State of New York as an active member in good standing or registered (or qualified to register) as in-house counsel under the Rules of the Court of Appeals of the State of New York.
