United is currently seeking Structural Discipline Lead to join our team at the Detroit Edison Fermi Nuclear Plant in Newport, MI. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team of engineers and designers at the Detroit Edison Fermi Nuclear Plant and will function as a Civil/Structural Lead Engineer working on plant modification packages, engineering calculations, evaluations and studies.

Job Responsibilities: *
- Interface with plant stakeholders to determine project scope/requirements, support construction/implementation and start up activities.
- Exercise sound judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data, coordinate the efforts of the group with other discipline groups on the same project.
- Function as the Civil/Structural Discipline Lead and prepare civil/structural design change packages, coordinate interdisciplinary team of engineers and vendors to complete tasks on schedule and on budget.
- Prepare civil/structural calculations and evaluations in support of various design activities including, but not limited to the design of piping, cables and small equipment supports, instrument rack design, floor load impacts to concrete structures evaluations, equipment anchoring evaluations and seismic response evaluations.
- Develop material and work-hour estimates as well as engineering and design schedules
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
- Professional Engineering license is required
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- The successful candidate must be able to obtain unescorted access into a nuclear power plant.
Additional Qualifications:
- Engineering and design experience including developing civil/structural modification packages for components and structures serving nuclear power plants.
- Familiarity with nuclear standards and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Standard Design Process for nuclear plant modifications.
- Experience with engineering software such as ANSYS, STAAD Pro, AutoPipe and MathCad is a plus.
- Field experience at a nuclear power plant a plus.

Pay: $140,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
