POSITION: Sous Chef $20.56hr

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sous Chef is responsible for monitoring all culinary standards within the Food & Beverage operation which includes kitchen area, food preparation, food presentation, managing of menu(s), inventory, cost control, staffing, training, and health and safety procedures, .

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Job Reports to Food & Beverage Senior Manager

Leadership Accountability

Maintains kitchen operations as set forth by SOPs

Supervisory Accountability

Supervises Team Members below management level

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily supervision of kitchen line staff to ensure the following of all SOPs and health and safety standards.
  • Assists in the hiring, training, supervision and disciplinary actions of kitchen staff.
  • Ensures all menu item quality and consistency from raw food production to plated presentation.
  • Ordering of food, operating supplies and kitchen equipment.
  • Assists in inventory and cost control.
  • Works closely with FOH management/supervisors to ensure great customer service.
  • Conducts daily/weekly staff/shift meetings to keep the flow of information and communication on a consistent level.
  • Promotes a positive public relations as well as a positive work environment for all staff.
  • When needed helps to prep food items and prepare food items on the line.
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION:

1. College degree; may substitute food & beverage experience for degree, 2-4 year of appropriate experience.

2. Food Safety Certificate (ServSafe).

3. Strong verbal and written communication, organization, commercial kitchen culinary experiences and supervisory skills (able to supervise up to 15 kitchen employees).

4. Must have a valid driver’s license, liability insurance and dependable transportation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.56 per hour
