Chrysalis is a short-term intensive residential treatment facility for clients with dual-diagnosis in mental health and substance use. The clients engage in the program for up to 90 days and are provided with group counseling, individual counseling, and case management by the clinical team. The clients are also provided support with independent living skills, recreational activities, and use of coping strategies/skills.
How can you make a difference in people’s lives?
The Intake Counselor is responsible for maintaining relationships and coordination with external partners such as CenterPoint helpline, CenterPoint criminal justice, drug court, Cherry Hill, and various Kaiser referral sources. As our first point of contact and the "face of our program" for incoming clients/residents, the Intake Counselor is also responsible for providing the necessary support and engagement to welcome clients/residents into the program and providing an environment that promotes engagement in the programming we provide. This position requires assessment and documentation completion for incoming clients and frequent communication with the rest of the treatment team. The Intake Counselor may also hold a small caseload or facilitate clinical groups as needed. In this fast-paced environment the Intake Counselor gains a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge very quickly and learns clinical skills that will be invaluable for the rest of his/her/their career. The Intake Counselor reports to the Program Director and adhere to policies/procedures implemented by the Clinical Director and/or Program Director.
Required:
- Documentation of current Flu Vaccination (Flu shot)
What will make you successful in this role?
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- BBS registered with Associate/Intern number (MFT, MSW, or LPC)
Preferred:
- Experience with Medi-Cal billing and note-writing
- Experience collaborating with referral partners and case managers
- Experience completing assessments for clients with Mental Health and/or Substance Use diagnoses
- Experience leading group therapy sessions
- Experience in case management with clients
- Experience managing a caseload of 5-8 clients
- Experience working in Mental Health and/or Substance Use treatment setting
- Experience working in a residential treatment setting
- Fingerprinting/Drug testing required at time of hire
Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
